Call for Bids: SA Sailing Youth National Championships 2023

Each year Youth Nationals is rotated between the different regions in the country and next year, this prestigious event is heading to KwaZulu-Natal. Clubs in KZN are being invited to host the event scheduled for December 2023.

Use it Again the Legendary Trimaran Boat

Royal Cape Yacht Club recently had the pleasure of welcoming Romain Pilliard at the club - he is the skipper of the famous trimaran 'Use It Again!' and has been attempting a Round the World Record in reverse since January 4, from Lorient.

SA’s Tarboton bags podium spot at Kiel Week while Kavanagh and Slater make gold fleet

Several South African sailors produced impressive performances at the recently concluded Kiel Week where around 5000 competitors converged on the German city for the prestigious nine-day event. Kiel Week includes numerous different classes, one of which was the Musto Skiff World Championships where South African Andy Tarboton finished in second place overall.

Good news! We are past the middle of winter – it’s downwind from here to Summer. This summer is going to include our 75th Anniversary Sailing Spectacular. I am hoping that the long weekend of 16th December is going to change the perception of sailing in the view of the authorities and the general public for ever.
