We are proud to welcome aboard our new sponsors, Eden Island Seychelles, for the 101st Anniversary of the Lipton Challenge Cup.
Many of our sailors will be familiar with Eden Island and for those who don’t know, Eden Island is a magnificent residential marina development just off the coast of Mahe, the main island of paradise Seychelles.

A special sponsor for a special event and a special word of thanks must go to Richard Epstein, Peter Smith and Gillian Verwey for their forthright and prompt decision to support this premier event on our sailing calendar.

Volvo Ocean Race: The End Of The Road Reads 13
On Sunday night in St. Petersburg, the final prizegiving was an opportunity to remember and celebrate all that has happened on this magnificent adventure.

It was an emotional evening, with all of the teams, their families and friends finally able to truly relax after living in the pressure-cooker of the past nine months. It was also time to say goodbye, with most of the teams disbanding as early as Monday, airplane tickets taking them to all corners of the globe already in hand, booked months in advance.

Class News: The Moth World Has Changed Reads 12
Horsens, Denmark was the venue for the European Moth Championship held between 24th and 28th of June. The week was dominated by strong easterly winds which never dropped below 15kn/h usually blowing in the higher wind range, gusting up to 25kn on the race course and even higher. As the local Horsens Sejlklub had been the organisers for Euro and World Championships for the Moth Class before, they were prepared with all the necessities required by such a challenging class as the Moth. This year the event saw only Foiler Moths racing and it had been very exciting to see around 40 Moths flying across the startline nearly at once and going uphill in a battle for height and speed.

Volvo Ocean Race: PUMA Leads As Volvo Fleet Heads To Russia Reads 59
PUMA, who is now assured second place overall, led the Volvo fleet out of Sandhamn, on the outer edge of the Stockholm archipelago today - a spectacular day where conditions were perfect for the start of the tenth and final leg of the Volvo Ocean Race 2008-09 to St Petersburg in Russia. Sailing confidently in 10 -12 knots of breeze, PUMA, Telefonica Blue and Ericsson 4 were the front runners off the start line and a huge spectator crowd needed no excuse to get out on the water and watch what these ocean greyhounds do best. A steady breeze and flat water ensured plenty of white water spilled from the bows as the boats started a leg for the last time, fully powered up and under a cloudless sky.
