Instructor Developer application for appointment  allows for experienced Senior Instructors to make application for appointment to Instructor Developer using a review of a Portfolio of Evidence profile, supported by an Online assesment process.

SA Sailing appoints Instructor Developers to facilitate the National Training Plan Instructor courses and carry out Inspections on the Recognised Training Centres that are Recognised to run SA Sailing Learn to Sail Courses. Such appointments are made based on program demands from time to time as is necessary

Prerequisites for Appointment

  • Be a fully certified SA Sailing Senior Instructor having all the SA Sailing Senior Instructor prerequisites in place,
  • A minimum of 440 hours overseeing the Learn To Sail Courses in this role recently at SA Sailing recognised Centre(s)
  • Be a minimum of 25 years of age,
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Should have passion and aptitude for teaching and mentoring to upskill and grow others in the future
  • Have a thorough understanding of the SA Sailing Recognised Training Centre Accreditation process to equip candidates to assist SA Sailing in this process.
  • Have a proven track record of mentoring and upskilling Instructors
