With the countdown well and truly on to the massive celebration for SA Sailing’s 75th anniversary, we’ve been looking both forward (to the exciting events in store at the end of the year) and back at where some of our great sailing clubs have come from. This month we feature False Bay Yacht Club – one of the clubs that will be instrumental in the celebrations…

False Bay Yacht Club
False Bay Yacht Club was founded in 1950. The Club Burgee was designed by Eric Fry and Mick Milford, two of the fifteen founding members and was registered in 1961. For some or other reason, after about two years, the club, as Eric Fry recalls “fizzled out”. A more positive description however would be “went into temporary abeyance”.
