This is for persons who are  competent sailors and wish to assist with coaching programs and would like gain practical training on how to be a Race Coach.

Practical experience is gain by working under supervision of a certified Race Coach and assisting with thier coaching programmes.

Certification is obtained by submitting  an online application that must include the following: -

• Portfolio of Evidence
• Your Coaching Philosophy
• Letter of recommendation/motivation from Certified SA Sailing Race Coach(es)
• a Valid Police Clearance Certificate (Child Protect Act requirement)
• a valid 1st Aid Certificate (Min Level 1 with drowning & secondary drowning endorsements)

If operating a power boat in your supervised duties then the following are also required

• a SAMSA recognised Power Boat Certificate of Compentency (COC/Skippers Ticket)
• Be a certified SA Sailing Safety Boat Operator
