SANCTION PROCESS

In order for an event to be recognised as a National Class Championship, it is necessary for the event to be sanctioned as such by South African Sailing (SAS) in terms of the SAS Regulations updated on 13th March 1997. This is the only way SAS can conduct a businesslike relationship with affiliates and other bodies. This professional approach is also the only way in which SAS can hope to keep abreast of the calendar of National Class Championships which occur at an average frequency of more than one every week of the sailing season.
